Hey everyone,
My name is Amelia Noel Platt.  I am 21 years old and I live in Mobile.  I grew up in a small town just north of Mobile called Citronelle. I started my college education at Faulkner State Community college in Bayminette AL. I finished there in the summer of 2009 with my associates in Arts.  One of my main reasons for moving to South after Faulkner was to come to Mobile and live with my grandmother.  She lives not far from campus and needed some help around the house.  I changed my major once at South to Elementary Education.  My mother has been an educator for more than 30 years and has been a very big influence in my choice of becoming a teacher.  I now hold a position as a Nanny for a family here in Mobile.  After helping my 14 and 12 year old many nights with Homework made me think that all of the knowledge that I had in my head my be put to use helping other children.  As for my family I have one Brother and his name is Opie and he is a member of the Jaguar Marching band and is in his second year at south.  My father works for a local water and sewer provider and is the head of his division.  I love music and I am very blessed to have been given an amazing musical talent.  I love to cook and to bake.  I spend most of my free time with my friends and family and they mean the world to me.  I am also very involved at my home church Citronelle United Methodist church.  I am the nursery worker at my church as well.  I am very excited about this year and to start my education classes.

  1. Hi Amelia! I really enjoyed reading your introduction. It is nice to "meet" you! I am 20 years old and a junior so we are close to the same age. I am also an elementary education major. I also have a younger brother and he is 18 and he plays the guitar. That is really great that the both you and your brother share a love for music and can meet on that level. It sounds like you are very close to your family and I absolutely love that because I think family is so important. Something else we have in common is I attended Faulkner State this summer for two courses. I really liked it! I think it is fantastic that you are following in your mothers footsteps of becoming an educator. I look forward to getting to know you this semester :)

  2. Please put all of your reports for Blog Assignment #1 into ONE post. It save us about 4 hours each week if they are all in one post. Copy and paste until they are all together. then remove the unnecessary posts. Thank you.

And welcome to EDM310. We have so many musicians this semester that I have developed an assignment that may lead to a concert or something. More about that later.
